Fall Protection – Harness Safety and Uses
This (4) hour course contains information required in the OSHA 1926 construction standard. Falls are the leading cause of deaths in the construction industry. Falls from as little as 4 to 6 feet can cause serious injury or death. Any employee that will be working at a height of 6 feet or greater must be protected by a personnel restraint system. (Harness) When a harness is required it is the employer’s obligation to provide one, and provide proper training on how to use the harness properly. This course will provide participants with an understanding of their responsibilities when working in areas where fall hazards exist, the use of and inspection of the required equipment and the engineering controls to reduce the risk of a fall. Learn how to prevent dangers and fatal falls from this important course. This course can be held in either a classroom setting or jobsite.
Certification is good for (2) years.
Intended Audience: For workers who may be required to work above (6) feet wearing a harness or workers that work near fall hazards and need training to recognize dangers. As well as management who will be overseeing workers in situations requiring harness protection.
